1. About the App

Akashbarta (Bengali: আকাশবার্তা) is a Bangladesh-focused smart weather application by Tefarab AI. It offers real-time weather, hourly and daily forecasts, air quality, severe alerts, and offline cache via Room — with full Bengali and English UI.

2. Data We Process

Location — GPS or city you select, to show local weather (optional GPS for auto-location).
Weather cache — Forecast data stored on-device (Room) for offline mode.
Preferences — Language (বাংলা / English), °C/°F, saved cities via DataStore.
Notifications — Optional alerts for rain, storms, UV, and wind when enabled.

3. Weather APIs

Live data is fetched from free Open-Meteo services (forecast, air quality, geocoding). Requests go to Open-Meteo servers; their policies apply to network traffic. No API key is required for core Phase 1 features.

4. What We Do Not Do

We do not use your weather data for advertising profiles.

5. Permissions

Internet (forecasts), optional location, and notification permission for weather alerts. You can use manual city search without GPS.

6. Future Features (Phase 2–3)

Planned features may include flood tracking, radar embeds, Bengali AI chat (OpenRouter), and community reports. This policy will be updated before those features ship.
